Pearl and Kenny met in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood when they moved into the same building together, on the same day!! Crazy I know!! So when they said they wanted to do their engagement session in Bucktown, I was very excited because not a lot of couples choose that neighborhood. This was an awesome chance for us to explore – and explore we did!
We hit the 606, a favorite pub of theirs and had some amazeballs popcorn! YUM! And as the sun set, I was able to play with light and shadows to create a mix of intimate engagement photos and archetype artwork for their home. I always aim to give my couples photos which they can hang which aren’t cheesy and won’t get old – a mix of architecture, emotion and symmetry.
I really like Pearl and Ken – I met them years ago at another wedding and they’re just great people who deserve a great life together. I’m pretty psyched to photograph their wedding next year. Cheers – here’s some of my favs from their Bucktown engagement session!
