Vitalij hired me a few weeks before his intended proposal date because he knew him and his fiancee, Eva, would be visiting Chicago from Germany. It seemed like the perfect idea to pop the question in Chicago, their favorite city. We Skype and panned everything over email. He would tell Eva that he hired a student photographer to document their trip here, just to throw her off.
When I finally met them both, Eva was super surprised to learn there was a planned photoshoot – she didn’t know anything about the photoshoot let alone the proposal. So this was great and we started by taking some pictures here and there just for fun. Then I took them to the intended spot which was right in front of the Chicago skyline, THE perfect spot to propose. I positioned Eva telling her I would take a photo of just her facing the city – that’s when Vitalij got down on one knee and I asked Eva to turn around….
She was completely surprised, shocked and extremely happy. She said yes instantly.
After the initial shock wore off from the proposal we took a few more photos around Chicago and got to know each other. Eva mentioned her love of pancakes, and we talked about the differences in culture and lifestyle between the USA, Germany and Eastern Europe. I found out they were only staying in Chicago for the day before moving on to their next stop.
Both Vitalij and Eva are immensly passionate and very in love with each other
