Engagement sessions have become increasingly popular in Chicago over the last few years. I never did one for my wedding and I wish I had. It’s an awesome chance to get to know your photographer and build some confidence in front of the camera. Because, unless you’re a professional model, even the best looking people clam up when they are faced with having their photo taken. There’s no one special trick to making people comfortable in front of my camera. I approach my couples honestly and candidly explain that what they put in is what they will get out. I’m not some sort of comedian where I can make everyone laugh on command with jokes – the goal is to build honest moments and that’s what we did here! 🙂
