Chicago Wedding Photographer + Storyteller
Welcome! I'm Peter Gubernat, and I photograph weddings in Chicago. The photos you see on this website are some of my absolute favorites and I hope you enjoy exploring them. I approach weddings as a storyteller and focus on photographing moments, not just people. Each photo below will lead you to a unique wedding story. Great Wedding Photography Starts With You (and me)!
Awesome images don’t just take themselves. Obviously, being an experienced wedding photographer helps and so does having great equipment, but the real key to capturing amazing moments is a great relationship between the couple and the photographer. Investing in those relationships is incredibly valuable to me and has become the cornerstone of my work.
I’ve photographed A LOT of Chicago weddings so I constantly give my couples advice to save time, effort and make their wedding day less stressful. I can also recommend a few select, amazing and trusted Chicago vendors (makeup artists, videographers, ect) to ensure that no one drops the ball on your wedding day. I wrote a great article that gives some awesome wedding planning tips, be sure to check it out.
I’m always asked by couples, ‘what is my style?’ and my answer is simple. Weddings call for a unique blend of candid storytelling and posed photography. Weather I’m posing a wedding party of 28+ people or photographing intimate moments between the bride and groom my approach is the same. Keep it stress free and tell a story. You can always read more about my approach to wedding photography and style.
Chicago Wedding Venues
Being a Chicago Wedding Photographer, I’ve gotten to shoot at some pretty awesome venues. Some of my favorites are Columbus Park Refactory, Farm Friends, Chicago History Museum, InterContinental Hotel, City View Loft, Osteria Via Stato, Promontory Point, Germania Place, Chicago Tribune Tower Crown, Holy Name Cathedral, and Arrowhead Golf Club. Each one of these is epic in its’ own right!
